Why are onsite elements displayed on the page, despite display restrictions?

The onsite elements on a store page are programmed to display based on certain conditions stored in cookies. It is in the cookies that information is stored about whether a particular onsite element, (Pop-up, Weblayer, Social Proof), has already been displayed to the user or not. Thanks to cookies, a site can “remember” whether, for example, a particular pop-up has been displayed to a user before, and decide whether to show it again on that basis.

Sometimes, however, onsite elements reappear, despite limits such as display "Once in 1 day". The most common cause of this problem is that the user's browser is clearing, or not saving, cookies associated with pop-ups, due to cookies setting of the page. This may be due to incorrect configuration of cookies on the store's side.

In practice, this means that when navigating through the various sub-pages of the store, the cookies that should store information about the pop-ups displayed are deleted. As a result, the site “forgets” that the pop-up has already appeared, and displays it again.

To solve this problem:

  • Verify that the cookies associated with onsite elements from edrone are correctly assigned to the user and that they remain with the user when using your online store.

  • It's a good idea to contact the developer responsible for the site so that he or she can further analyze the configuration of the cookies and ensure that they are working properly.
