What steps do you need to take when you change your shop's domain?

If you are changing the domain of your store, you can still use your edrone account. You just need to take a few necessary steps.

Remember that the data overwrite process from the new platform depends on the traffic to your site. As a result, the store's performance in the edrone panel may deteriorate for some time, and this is natural during the account migration.

Here are the steps you need to take

  • Integrate the new platform with the APP_ID assigned to your account in the Settings -> Integration section. This also applies to the landing page.

  • Redirect links from the old platform to the new one - in case a user clicks on elements from an email sent from the previous platform, they won't be directed to a 404 page.

  • Replace dynamic elements in all automatic scenario creations, e.g., Bestsellers, Abandoned Carts, Viewed Products (marked with a lightning icon). Simply remove the currently existing elements in the creation and add them again from the menu on the left side in the Design section of each scenario.

  • Update discount codes in each automatic scenario and Custom Flow template that will be generated on the new e-commerce platform.

  • Update categories in the Cross-selling automatic scenario (if you use this scenario).

  • Upload a new product feed to expedite the process of overwriting product/category information (optional).

  • Change graphic links in creation elements (automatic scenarios, PopUps/Weblayers, change rules in onsite elements if they have changed).

  • Add new SPF, DKIM, DMARC authentication entries in the Settings -> Integration -> Sending Domain section.

  • Re-identify your customer base by sending an identification message, e.g., with information about the store name change. This is necessary due to new cookies on the new domain.

After completing the above steps, please report this to your account manager or the Customer Service department via chat or at hello@edrone.me. We will verify the integration correctness for you, change the domain name on the account, and clean the product and category database from the previous platform, so that new data has a chance to be overwritten.
