Product feed is an XML file with a specific structure, containing all the most important information about your products in the shop which can be send e.g. to edrone, such as product links, photos, availability etc.
Benefits of having a product feed
Information about product availability.
Before each message is sent from an automation scenario, e.g. the Abandoned Carts scenario, the system queries the feed for the availability of the products to be sent in the message. This ensures that your customers only receive products that are available in the shop in the message.
Always up-to-date information about your products (prices, images, etc.).
Access to full functionality of edrone features that require parameters from product feed (read about our requirements in this article: https://help.edrone.me/en/articles/8294829-product-feed-requirements).
The product feed is essential for some of our features:
dynamic element Selected Products;
blocks with categories in Custom Flows;
some of our Ready Flows: Back in stock, Low stock products, Price change alert: up/down;
Marketing Machine recommendation frames.
Without a product feed you will not have access to these functionalities at all. Importantly, some of our integrations do not require adding a product feed. These are platforms such as: Shoper, Shopify or Nuvemshop. All functionalities will then work properly.
Q&A
I am a new customer, can I work without a product feed?
Yes, the system can work without a product feed and we will base on data from events sent directly from the store. However, then you will not be able to take full advantage of all the available functionality of the system: Recommendation Frames, categories in Custom Flows, expanded categories in Cross-selling scenario, information about product availability, etc.
