IP reputation

IP addresses are assigned to mail servers that send email messages. IP reputation evaluates the history and behavior of a given IP address in the context of sending email messages. A good IP reputation means that the server is considered trustworthy by email providers, and messages sent from this IP address have a greater chance of being delivered to recipients' inboxes. Behaviors such as mass spamming can lead to a decrease in IP reputation, resulting in lower email deliverability.

Sender domain reputation

Similar to IP reputation, sender domain reputation evaluates the history and behavior of a given domain in the context of sending email messages. Consideration is given to the quality of the mailing list and how often and what types of messages are sent. A good sender domain reputation means that messages originating from it are perceived as valuable and desirable by email providers, resulting in better deliverability.

In practice, both IP reputation and sender domain reputation are important factors in ensuring effective email deliverability. Both aspects are monitored and evaluated by email providers, who make decisions about which folder a given message should go to.
