Social Proof

Show your customers how others are falling in love with your products and enjoying your hottest offers!

Written by Wioleta Jednaka

Consider the immense power that influencers have on social media to drive sales. It’s no wonder the top names earn millions collaborating with brands and promoting their products – because it works!

As the term influencer suggests, it’s all about how other people’s behavior has a strong effect on our own – and this is especially true in uncertain situations, like buying a product online. Which product should you buy? Where should you buy it? Is it any good? Should you buy it now, or come back later? What if it’s gone by then?

All these questions, and many more, can be answered by the behavior of your store’s other customers. Marketers call this technique Social Proof. It can turn a customer’s “I’ll come back later” (which usually means: probably never) into “I need this now”.

Since edrone is all about helping your store become a sales machine, we give you a way to create FOMOfear of missing out – in your customers. This shows them that other customers already love your products, so they’ll probably love them too!

Let’s check how to set up this feature!

How to set up Social Proof

Log into your edrone Workspace. In the left-side menu, expand Onsites and click Social proof. In the same menu, you’ll find other onsite widgets too, like Smart recommendations, Popup, Slider, Banner, WhatsApp Widget, Callback Request, Chat widget, AI Recommendations Frame, Push newsletter, and Marketing Machine.

On the main Social Proof page, you’ll see an overview of your key metrics: the number of active Social Proof widgets, views, clicks, supported revenue, and supported orders – each one compared with the previous 30 days.

Below that, you’ll find the All / Active / Inactive tabs and the “+ Add social proof” button in the top right corner – click it to create a new widget. Existing widgets appear as cards. Each card shows a live preview of the widget’s message, its status (Active/Inactive), a Report button, and a “⋮” menu with Edit, Preview, Duplicate, and Deactivate options.

📌 Tip: To edit an existing widget, click “⋮” on its card and select Edit.

Clicking “+ Add social proof” (or Edit) opens the configuration screen. On the left, you’ll see a live preview of the widget. On the right, you’ll find the Configuration panel, split into a few expandable sections. At the top of the screen, you’ll see a back arrow, the widget’s name, an Active/Inactive status badge, and the Preview and Publish buttons in the top right corner.

Enter a name for your widget. This name is for identification purposes only – your customers won’t see it.

2. Message setup

This section is expanded by default, and covers the basic settings for the widget’s content:

  • Message language – the language your customers will see the notifications in.

  • Goal – choose the widget’s goal: Promote, Inform, or Influence. Each option comes with a short description in the panel.

  • Notification typeViews, Adds to cart, or Purchases. Each type has a short description explaining exactly what it shows.

  • Activity time range – the time range of data included in the notification: last 24 hours, last week, last month, or from the beginning.

3. Design

Set how the widget looks: its shape/corners, your brand color, and whether the edrone attribution is visible on it.

4. Device

Choose which devices the widget shows up on: desktop only, mobile only, or both.

5. Display position

Set the widget’s position on screen – separately for desktop and mobile.

6. Display location

Decide where the widget appears: on product pages, on every page, or only on specific URLs.

7. Timing

Set a delay before the widget appears, and whether (and after how long) it should auto-close.

8. Schedule

Choose whether the widget goes live right away, or only during a selected date range.

9. Limits

Set how often the same visitor can see this widget.

⚠️ Important: When you’re done, click Publish to make the widget go live on your store. The Preview button shows you how the widget will look, without publishing your changes.

Social Proof reports

Just like with any other marketing activity, it’s worth keeping an eye on how your Social Proof widgets are performing, so you can optimize them.

You’ll find the key metrics (active widgets, views, clicks, supported revenue, and supported orders) right on the widget list, under Onsites > Social proof. For full reports, go to Reports > Onsite. Click here to learn more.
