Sending SMS messages in Custom Flows

Custom Flows is one of the most flexible tools in the edrone system, allowing you to create your own marketing automation scenarios - tailored exactly to your needs. You do not have to be limited to ready-made schemes of so-called Ready Flows scenarios - you can design flows yourself, which correspond to the specifics of your business.

Until recently, communication in Custom Flows was mainly based on emails. Now you can also add SMS messages directly to your Custom Flow, which significantly increases your ability to contact your customers 🚀.

What does this mean for you?

You can add SMS as a step anywhere in your flow.

SMS messages can be sent when certain conditions are met (e.g. email click, tag change, order status).

This will help you build even more personalised and effective omnichannel communication.

Example:

Let's say a customer has abandoned a shopping cart, after 3h a ‘Rescue Abandoned Cart’ message has been sent to them, but after checking after another 2h that the customer has not opened the reminder email, you can send them an SMS message reminding them that there is a discount code waiting for them in their email inbox to complete their order or the message can immediately contain a static discount code.

How do I add an SMS to a Custom Flow?

  1. Go to the Automations→ Custom Flows tab.

  2. Go to the SMS design tab and set up an SMS message.

3. Go to the E-mail design tab and create a suitable e-mail message.

4. Return to the section and create a new flow or edit an existing flow.

5. In the flow structure, select the action to send an SMS message.

6. Select a pre-prepared message from the list and save it.

7. Done! Save your custom flows path, rename it and run 🚀.
