To send your messages from edrone with good deliverability, you need to add your sending domain in the system and authenticate it by creating the right DNS records with your provider.
Follow the steps below to configure DNS records on LocaWeb.
Important: if you run into trouble navigating LocaWeb's panel, contact LocaWeb support directly - they know their panel best.
Tip: your sending domain is not your store's URL. It doesn't include "https://" or "www" and can differ from your store domain - but it must be the domain you use to send your messages. Example: yourstore.com
Step 1 - Configure DNS records automatically in edrone
Go to the Sending domain tab in your edrone dashboard, under "Your store". Next to your domain, click Configure DNS records.
Confirm your root domain and the subdomains edrone manages, then click Continue to DNS setup.
Tip: you no longer need to add Sparkpost DKIM, SPF, or DMARC entries one by one. Just add the NS records edrone shows you.
Step 2 - Adding the records on LocaWeb
LocaWeb has two different products, and the path to the DNS zone depends on which one you have. The fields you fill in are the same either way - only the route to get there changes.
If you have Domain Registration (Registro de Domínio) with LocaWeb:
Go to the Customer Center (Central do Cliente) at locaweb.com.br and log in.
Under "My Products", click Domain Registration.
Find your domain and click Manage.
In the DNS Zone section, click Edit DNS zone.
Click Add entry.
If you have Website Hosting (Hospedagem de Sites) with LocaWeb:
Go to the Customer Center and open Website Hosting.
Click the three dots (⋮) next to your domain and select DNS Zone.
Find your domain and click Manage.
Click Add Entry.
From here, the steps are the same for both:
Choose type NS.
In Entrada (host), enter the host edrone gave you (Step 1).
In Conteúdo (value), enter the value edrone gave you. The default TTL (3600) can stay as is.
If you need to add more than one value, use "+ Add Content".
Click Save.
Repeat this for each NS record edrone gave you.
Go back to edrone and click Verify records to confirm your setup.
Remember: propagation can take up to 48 hours. If the status doesn't change right away, check back later.
What if LocaWeb doesn't support NS records?
Not every DNS provider lets you add NS records for subdomains. If that's the case for LocaWeb, click I can not configure NS records in edrone's DNS configuration screen. This switches you to the alternative setup using standard DNS records (CNAME and TXT). If LocaWeb starts supporting NS records later, you can switch back anytime by clicking Use recommended records.
