What are intro messages and what are they for?
The Welcome new subscribers scenario includes Intro messages — a sequence of messages you can send to people right after they confirm their subscription. It's a great way to introduce your store's story, mission, or vision, or to present your team.
Intro message limit and send time
You can set up to 4 intro messages, each with its own send time. If you don't set a time, the message goes out based on when the recipient confirms their subscription.
In the Design section, you'll set the look of each message by selecting it from the dropdown list at the top of the screen.
Note: if you set up Intro messages, they'll be sent only after the Confirmation message and the Welcome message (this depends on the subscription model you're using).
If you use the Double Opt-In model and the Client doesn't confirm the subscription, they won't receive the intro messages. This is an extra feature — it lets you send new subscribers up to 6 automatic messages in total (counting the subscription confirmation and welcome message in the Double Opt-In model).
Message for customers who try to sign up again
The Welcome new subscribers scenario now has an extra, optional branch: Customer tries to sign up again. It triggers when someone who's already subscribed tries to sign up a second time.
This message is empty by default — it's up to you to decide whether to set it up. A good idea is a short, friendly line like "Looks like you're already on our list 😳".
To add it, open the Welcome new subscribers scenario, find the Customer tries to sign up again branch, and click + Add a message for subscribers.
📌 Tip: this also works in the SMS and WhatsApp welcome scenarios — not just the email newsletter.
How to set up intro messages
Click Automations -> Ready Flows.
Click the Welcome new subscribers scenario.
Add messages by clicking the last field with a plus sign.
Once you add an intro message, a settings field appears where you can set the send time.
Hover over the intro message thumbnail and click on it.
From there, you can choose the message settings and edit its design.
