Smart Recommendations Creator

How to create and customize your Smart Recommendations onsite widget — general settings, teaser, sign-up form, product display, and reports.

To launch the Smart Recommendations widget, go to Onsite → Smart Recommendations. To edit an existing widget, click Edit.

The creator has 4 tabs: General, Teaser, Sign-up Form, and Products.

1. General

Here you set the widget's language and choose when and how it shows up on your store.

  • Widget language (dropdown)

  • Hide the widget on mobile

  • Open on hover (desktop only)

  • Open on exit intent (desktop only)

  • Open the widget after a product is added to the cart (desktop only)

  • Button background color

  • Button text color

  • Button rounding: sharp corners, soft corners, or fully rounded

  • Google Fonts

  • Exclude URLs — a list of pages where the widget should not appear

2. Teaser

The teaser is the small bubble customers see on your site before they open the widget.

  • Widget type: bubble, rectangle, or products (with the products type, product thumbnails show automatically)

  • Widget background: solid color, gradient, or image

  • Custom text

  • Border style

  • Display section: icon, custom text, a red dot to grab attention, position, and size

  • Hide the teaser during the user's session

3. Sign-up Form

This form is optional. You can remove it at any time with the Remove button.

  • Customize the button: background color, text color, rounding

  • Form text and privacy policy text

  • Optional phone number field

📌 Tip: customers who sign up through this form automatically receive messages from the "Welcome New Subscribers" scenario.

4. Products

Edit the desktop and mobile versions separately, using the Desktop and Mobile tabs.

  • Product display layout: Vertical, Horizontal, or Two columns

  • Product button style

Test & Publish

Test how the widget looks on your site before going live. To test it on mobile, scan the QR code that appears when you click Test. When you're ready, click the yellow Publish button.

Reports

After publishing, check the widget's performance anytime from the Report button. You'll see widget opens, product views, assisted revenue, and order details.
