In the following article, you will learn how quick and easy it is to configure this extremely helpful functionality. Let's get started!
To set up your first Web Layer slider, you need to go with the 'onsite' tab and then the 'Web Layer slider' section.
Navigate through the yellow menu bar, which is located on the right-hand side of the screen.
Step 1 - choose a template
You have several templates to choose from. Click on the one that best suits your needs. You will automatically be taken to the next step, which is editing and personalizing the functionality you are preparing.
Step 2 - adapt the slider to the style of your shop
In this step, you have the option to adapt the slider to the design of your website. There are two menus on the left-hand side of the screen. The "Content" section is responsible for setting the text to be placed on the Call To Action tab, the so-called Slider BAR, from which the entire slider slides out. This is also where you can adjust the other content to be included on the rest of the banner, i.e. the Slider BODY.
In the "General settings" section, there is space to prepare the graphic design of your slider. As a background, you can choose a photo, a single color, or a gradient! The choice is entirely up to you and your preferences! Here you will also adjust the font and place a link to the page to which the CTA button, when clicked, will take the user.
When customizing the message you want to convey to your customers via the Web Layer slider, in addition to customizing elements, you can also add new ones!
Click "Add an element" and select another basic element such as a photo, a break between elements or a button, or additional elements that allow you to collect even more information about your customers, such as their birthday, which you can use in a birthday scenario, their gender or their telephone number so that you can send SMS newsletters thanks to SMSAPI.
Throughout the whole process of preparing the slider, you can observe your work in real-time thanks to the preview available in this section. This will allow you to monitor the progress of your work and visually assess the functionality you are preparing. Also check the onsite preview on mobile devices in real time, thanks to the ability to easily change the device preview.
Step 3 - choose a display location
If your prepared slider already looks as it should, it is time to decide where it should be placed and on which devices it should be displayed. These can be desktop and mobile devices at the same time, or you can choose them individually.
Also, choose where the slider Web Layer will appear so that it does not obscure any other key elements on your site.
Step 4 - additional settings
At the end of the slider creation process, you need to determine when for what length of time, and on which pages it should display. There are several options to choose from:
Trigger for the slider to show up - decide whether the creative should show up immediately, after a selected period of time, i.e. with a 5-second delay, for example, or when it scrolls to 50% of the page.
A place where the creative is to be displayed - here you indicate on which pages the slider will be displayed. This can be the homepage, any page of your e-commerce, product pages, or pages with a specific URL or added HTML.
The time period when the slider will be displayed - you can decide whether the design will show immediately or on a specific day you specify. Here you can also specify how many times the slider will be visible, e.g. once per hour.
Subscription status - here you can select the subscription status of your customers to whom you want a particular, prepared by you, Web Layer slider to be displayed. You can choose between: everybody (any), subscribers (subscribed), unsubscribed and unsubscribed, and unknown.
Tag - by expanding the list, you can select the tag to be assigned to people who subscribe using the Web Layer slider.
Name the Web Layer slider - finally, appropriately name the Web Layer slider you have prepared for use in your particular campaign.
Step 5 - generate the preview of your Web Layer and publish it
Preview the changes by clicking the Preview -> Go to store button.
When the element is fully ready, click the Publish button to display the Web Layer on your website.
