This post will tell you what Web Layer actually is and provide you with examples. We’ll also show you how to create it, step by step.
You will find the Web Layer configuration panel in Mission Control. In the menu on the right, click on ONSITE. You will be shown the available solutions and on the 6th and 7th positions you will see are Web Layer Slider and Web Layer Banner.
Web Layer Slider
To start with, we'll show you how to create a slider! When you click on the option you want in the menu, the home screen will show you 4 steps – because that's all that's separating you from having it show up on your store page!
Step 1 - choosing a template
You have different templates to choose from. Click on the one that best suits your needs. You will automatically be taken to the next step, which is editing and personalization.
Step 2 - give the slider a style
Now it's time to customize the slider and make it match your site. On the left side you see two menus to choose from. In the "Content" section, you can set the text you want to appear on the tab with the Call To Action (Slider BAR), from which the entire slider slides out, as well as all the other content to appear on it (Slider BODY).
In the "General settings" section, you can prepare the graphic design of the slider. Do you prefer a photo, a single color, or a gradient as a background? The choice is yours! Here you will also adjust the font and set the link to the page to which the CTA button should take the user.
With the preview already in design, you can see in real time how the slider will look on your site on desktop and mobile devices.
Step 3 - choose the location
Once the slider looks the way it should, it's time to decide where it should be placed and on which devices it should be displayed.
Step 4 - it's time for the final details
At the end of the slider creation process, you need to determine when, for what length of time and on which pages it should display. There are several options to choose from:
Trigger for the slider to show up – decide whether the creation should show up immediately, after a selected period of time or when it scrolls to 50% of the page.
Location where the creation should show – here you indicate on which pages the slider will be displayed.
The time period when the slider will be displayed – you can decide whether the design will show immediately or on a day you specify. Here you can also specify how many times the slider will be visible, e.g. once an hour.
Finally, name the whole project, check the preview, and... publish!
Web Layer Banner
Now we will move on to Web Layer Banner design. Click on the desired option in the right menu. The main screen will show 3 steps.
Step 1 – choose a template
Choose the type of banner that best suits your needs. With a CTA button or sub-linked text? You decide!
Step 2 – personalize the banner
Here you will change the appearance and position of the banner. On the left side you will see a detailed menu where you can choose:
Position – either at the top or bottom of the page.
Style – decide whether the banner should be anchored in one place or, for example, move as you scroll the page.
Color – just like with the slider, you can decide whether the banner should be one color or filled with an image?
Content – enter a catchy slogan and a CTA, choose a font color and insert a link to which the banner should point.
Step 3 – final setting of the banner display
This is exactly the same menu you associate with the slider settings. Choose on which devices you want your creation to display, on which pages and at what time. Save the project and you're done!
Let’s wrap things up:
Now you know how to get down to creating Web Layers. Be sure to test all the configurations yourself! Often the best ideas are born in the process of creation!
