From the 28th of February, we would stop supporting the old drag 'n' drop editor and LEGACY POP UP. We decided to make this decision because we have newer technological solutions. CUSTOM POP UP and the new DRAG and DROP editor do not only propose technological optimization, but, above all, are designed in the user-friendly way. It means, that every user enjoys creating new creations and so that their modification is not difficult for them. Check out how to quickly move to new and better editors.
How to start using the DRAG ‘n’ DROP editor?
Here are some ways to quickly and painlessly familiarize yourself with this functionality.
Method I – with this method, you will copy the creation 1:1
Go to the selected scenario, then to the REVIEW section. From here, send a test message to yourself.
Open the test message in your mailbox and by clicking the right mouse button and the option “Save graphic as” download each graphic element to your computer. This way, you will use the image elements of the scenario from the old editor. Also copy the text and subject of the message.
Go back to the scenario, then to the REVIEW section and PAUSE the scenario (it’s the button under the SEND TEST button).
Go to the DESIGN section. Here you will see the "New Editor" button highlighted in blue. Click it!
After clicking, you will be taken to the template in the new editor.
Based on this template, map the creation from the test message and step by step add: your company logo, banner, text. The templates are created in such a way that they suggest what should be included in a particular part of the message. You can find additional information about the capabilities of the editor here. You can also get inspired on how to arrange content and graphics for a given scenario using our portfolio.
Method II - Do you send newsletters in the new editor and scripts in the old one?
Perhaps you already have a message template created to speed up your work, and so you only need to copy the “skeleton” of the message and then modify it a bit. You can copy the creation in a few simple steps. At the height of the place to enter the subject of the email, there are several buttons.
To copy the entire message, select Copy. Then go to the engagement you want to run. Stop it at the REVIEW section. Go back to the DESIGN step. Click the new editor button highlighted in blue. And press Paste.
Remember: if you have successfully transferred 1 automation scenario to the new editor, you can use it as a template and copy and paste it into next scenarios. Then you need to replace only the theme, banner, and text.
In order to use the copy from scenario and paste to scenario function, the scenario must be stopped (you can do this in the REVIEW step, PAUSE button).
Method III - use templates and refresh design!
This is an ideal opportunity to refresh the communication with your customers. In the DESIGN section of the new editor, in the top bar right next to the place to enter the message subject, you can find many templates ready to use (some are dedicated to a specific scenario, but you can always redesign them to suit your needs). Just replace the logo, modify the menu, add a suitable banner et voilà!
How to transfer LEGACY pop up to CUSTOM POP UP
You can find both editors in the ONSITE section.
LEGACY POP UP – the old creator that will be disabled.
CUSTOM POP UP – the new creator where you want to transfer to.
If you want to replicate the existing pop up and keep the same graphics, follow the instructions below.
After logging in, click on the On-site section, then on Legacy Pop Up and choose which creation you want to replicate.
Next, click on the design section and download the photo using the right mouse button and select "Explore".
Find the main link from your pop up image, remember to select the entire container, then copy the link and download the image.
Open a new tab where you paste the link of your graphic - and there you go! You have your pop-up photo ready! Now we'll go through the new editor together, where you'll replicate your pop up.
TIP FOR YOU: It's a good practice to take a screenshot of how your pop-up looked like with all the elements included—it will be much easier for you to re-create it. 🙂Click on the Custom Pop-Up tab, then the plus button. Next, choose the goal you want to achieve. Make a decision whether you prefer to create creations on a new template, or an existing one that includes the specific inputs ready to be modified.
After selecting a template, you are in the second step - Design, where you create the entire pop up. Start with the General Settings tab and select a photo to import (remember to keep the size of the graphic to no more than 2MB) and upload the photo. In the General Settings you can also set layout, pop-up width and other adjust which help you place your pop-up.
Go back to the Content tab — this is where you have a preview of the elements that were default included in the template you selected. You can edit, duplicate, add a new element or delete each of them, as well as set the order in which they should appear in your pop-up. All you have to do is click and drag the element to any place you want.
Editing the elements which you choose is very simple and using-friendly. If you are curious about each of the option, you can find more information here.
If you want to see how your pop up will look on mobile devices, click on the phone icon. You can come back to the General Settings to make changes in the layout.
In the third step – Display, you will determine where on the page the pop up will be displayed and on which device. You can set displaying on both desktop and mobile, desktop only, or just mobile devices.
Last, the fourth step is Settings. Here you can set the triggers after which your pop up will be displayed, set the delay time or location (your pop up can be shown base on some URL code). You can also choose your audience based on subscription status, give the tag to the audience and set the frequency for displaying pop up.
After entering the name of your pop up (the name is visible only for you to easily distinguish pop ups from the list), generate a preview. It’s worth checking how the pop-up will look on your website. If necessary, you can make corrections to it and finally publish it using the PUBLISH button.
